What Home Buyers should know about Pool Barriers in Phoenix

About a year ago I was doing some research for a client that needed to put in a pool barrier on their new property and I was dump founded at the complexity of the research.  Even the vendors that do this for a living were confused.  It didn’t help that the property had a Glendale mailing address but is physically in Phoenix (and therefore has to play by Phoenix rules).

Shortly after I started my work, Dru Bloomfield wrote a new post on the topic for Scottsdale.  I made a note to write a similar post for Phoenix and today is the day that I dig it up again and write.

As Dru writes (you should read the post), it is the buyer’s responsibility to make sure they are in compliance and if there is an issue with getting in compliance, that should be addressed during the 10 day inspection period.

The Phoneix Pool Barrier document is the authority on the topic.  Which I would reference the details, but I am also certain that as soon as I type it, it will change.

In addition, the Arizona Association of Realtors® maintains a list of links for cities throughout Arizona.
