Compared to last month, this was a rather simple and shorter meeting. Still quite a bit was accomplished.
The Compliance Department is back at work after giving an appropriate break for the transition from Marketlinx to FBS. So be aware and check for any notifications. It is better to address the notices from Compliance than to receive and pay a fine for breaking the rules. The iCheck system, that nice little service that lets you know of possible violations, and early warnings about listing that will be expiring soon will be ramping up again, so look for those emails to start.
There is a known issue with DOM currently being worked by FBS, this is affecting quite a few listings at this time. Keep an eye out for updates on the dashboard.
ARMLS is settling into a new home, well, next door, giving them the much needed breathing room to work and grow.
We reviewed a list of suggestions provided by the user community for the FlexMLS assigning priorities to help FBS know which ones were of a critical nature and which ones were the nice-to-haves. There were some good suggestions in there and sparked quite a bit of discussion within the committee on how to do different things within FlexMLS. It’s great to hear a better way to a problem that you keep running into.
The definition of Bedroom continued to be a large discussion with the decision to create a virtual Task Force to address this and several other common terms used. The purpose of the task force is to come up with guidelines to assist the user community. I am a member of this task force, so let me know your thoughts on any terms that are not clear.
Designations, a topic that I didn’t realize I was so passionate about, came up again. We’ve made the recommendation that the individual boards decide which designations are appropriate and the work to track and keep ARMLS up to date will remain with them.
We are asking for any feedback on how to make the Wireless FlexMLS a better product, while a great step in the right direction, there are still opportunities for improvements.
The discussion of Team Functions in the FlexMLS have come up, business rules need to be worked out and enforced since this is a function that is desired in FlexMLS.
