FlexMLS Beta Testing Review

Okay, so I was part of that group of ARMLS committee members granted access to the new FlexMLS system prior to the rest of the world. Well, I have to say, overall, I am very happy with my experience to date and am still very much looking forward to the conversion to the new system. Just some random thoughts as I was doing testing:

  • Nice usage of JavaScript to create a nice clean and even customizable Realtor Interface.
  • They even have a RSS feed option for eMail notifications, since I am a big fan of aggregation tools, I love it.
  • I had a listing go active during the Beta, which showed up with details, but no pictures.
  • Send messages to the Listing Agent within the listing, way cool, no copy and pasting of email.
  • Score card, on th main page, shows you how many listings you have that are active, pending, expired and sold.
  • A quick and easy search for office listings and well as personal listings.
  • The Portal has easy like/maybe/dislike options.
  • The Portal has messages to share with Realtor that show up in Realtor dashboard.
  • Better statistical and calculator tools.

Issues (all of which could be related to the testing mode we are currently in):

  • Pictures of my listings from the old system didn’t get transferred to the new system.
  • Extra links (property website, virtual tour) missing on my listing in the new system.
  • Creating a new listing is having issues when saving.

Over all, I am so looking forward to having my clients on this new system, there will be so much more capability to service them from one location instead of having so many things in so many different directions. Hang tight, it’s coming.  I’ll be writing about additional features and I deep-dive into them.

  • Looking forward to the expanded statistical capabilities. Looking forward to the new functionality

  • Craig, thanks for the feedback. I didn’t know the listing photos and virtual tour and other links weren’t updating from the Marketlinx system as frequently as listings. I’ll have someone try to correct that. Of course, when the system goes live and listings are entered directly into the flexmls Web system, this won’t be an issue. Also, if you could send me more details on what was happening when you were trying to save a listing, that would be great.

  • Awesome Michael, thanks for the follow-up. Another demonstration that FBS is running a top notch client-centric company.
I have a new listing coming up soon, let me try to enter that one into FlexMLS before I do the Marketlinx side. I haven’t tried to repeat the issue so failed to open it with ARMLS until I do. When I enterred the last test, it would accept all the data (data entry errors were all cleared) and go into a saving status (3D box rotating) and never come back. After 5 minutes, I killed the session and started a new one to see if a partial or full was saved. Wasn’t found. I should be able to enter a new listing on FlexMLS tonight.
