First Time Home Buyer Mistakes

I help a lot of first time home buyers navigate their first transaction, and often the land-mines that I have to help them watch out for include:

  1. Make sure you have a good relationship with your lender and you ask them lots of questions.
  2. Reflecting too much on a decision to make an offer and once you decide, it’s too late, back to square one.
  3. Trying too hard to get a great deal, is the $50 wall repair really that important that you’ll risk losing the deal?
  4. Buyer’s remorse, you will go through this, it’s okay, it will go away and you will be happy you made the purchase.
  5. Not having enough money for the move in incidentals, you want to paint, clean carpets or swap light fixtures, just be prepared for the cost.
  6. Remember, most home owners live in the home on average 5.1 years, look for resellability in your new home
  7. Ask me all the questions you have, I’m here for you, to support you and work through all your needs

Just some basic things to watch out for.
