I help a lot of first time home buyers navigate their first transaction, and often the land-mines that I have to help them watch out for include:
- Make sure you have a good relationship with your lender and you ask them lots of questions.
- Reflecting too much on a decision to make an offer and once you decide, it’s too late, back to square one.
- Trying too hard to get a great deal, is the $50 wall repair really that important that you’ll risk losing the deal?
- Buyer’s remorse, you will go through this, it’s okay, it will go away and you will be happy you made the purchase.
- Not having enough money for the move in incidentals, you want to paint, clean carpets or swap light fixtures, just be prepared for the cost.
- Remember, most home owners live in the home on average 5.1 years, look for resellability in your new home
- Ask me all the questions you have, I’m here for you, to support you and work through all your needs
Just some basic things to watch out for.
