Each year, I work on my business plan and I do a review of the previous year to help me create direction for the next year. Here are some of the stats I collect that might be of interest.
In 2009, there were:
- 91,651 Residential Real Estate Sales
- Average Days on Market was 108 Days
- $87.63 per sq ft was the average selling price per square foot
- 95.97% sold price of list price
- $15,491,000,000 in sales
- $169,024 was average list price
- $125,000 was median price
- Approximately 32,000 agents
The first stat (91,651 Sales) and the last one (32,000 agents), tells you that the average agent sold just under 3 homes. There is a rule that 10% of the agents account for 90% of the sales out there. If that holds true, than the top producers average over 25 transactions last year.
